 Kris Troup, Licensed Esthetician/Owner

First of all, thank you for checking out my website.  I'm a licensed Esthetician with more than ten years of experience; eight of which were spent as a skin care manager of a well known spa in South Denver.

I started my career working with only natural botanical products, which were nice and smelled heavenly but lacked the ingredients for corrective needs.  After some time, I felt that I needed to expand my skills, offering many more in "tools" to help people with their skin care needs.  I now have a much wider array of products and services.  I still have several products that are natural/organic, but I also have products that are more aggressive for those clients with anti-aging and sun damage concerns.

I believe that the services of an Esthetician are very personal and need to be about the individual.  I am here for YOU.  We all have different needs or desires, so who am I to insist that it be MY way?  Years ago, I was doing my consultation on a guest and I told her what things I could incorporate into her facial.  I then asked her what she wanted.  She thanked me for asking and proceeded to tell me that she knew she had "bad" skin but she really wasn't in the mood to be "picked at" (extractions).  Sometimes people just want to be nurtured and there is no reason we can't do that.  Unfortunately, Estheticians are sometimes known to be pickers (and yes, we do love to go to town when given the opportunity) but we need to listen to our clients.  I think I do well in this department.  You are the paying client and you deserve the treatment you want.

I spent many years in the corporate world, doing a variety of different cubicle jobs.  At one time, early on, I tried to escape by going to night school to become a massage practitioner.  When all was said and done, fear kept my young self from making the leap.  Several years later I was given a gift of a full spa day.  I will never forget the facial that would change the course of my life.  It wasn't anything she did or said specifically, but the experience made me feel moved; emotional even.  I realized that at that moment that I wanted, if not needed, to share that energy with others.  A year later I left what had become a comfortable way of life to do something that I believed would be more meaningful and fulfilling.  Thankfully, it's that and so much more.  Now I have a successful business with many very dear customers that I consider true friends.

I think the key to youth is being active, having a positive attitude, finding balance, and taking care of your skin and body.  In my spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, yoga, cardio, and hiking. I LOVE to travel and have enjoyed parts of Europe several weeks at a time (my first was 3 weeks in Italy by myself!). Wine is a close companion (part of balance!, did you really think it was yoga?).  I also love photography, art, and the theater.
